A bit about us:
This is a large, established public school district serving almost 20,000 students across 37 schools. It is Michigan’s third-largest district and has earned six National Blue Ribbon School awards within eight years. In practical terms: it is large enough to offer real professional exposure, established systems, and multidisciplinary resources—not a district trying to run special education services with two paper clips and a group email.
Public employee reviews frequently point to caring coworkers, meaningful relationships with students, available resources, and individual supervisors who genuinely support their teams. The overall Glassdoor rating is 4.0/5, with particularly strong marks for work-life balance. Management experiences can vary between buildings, so candidates should use the interview to compare the specific placement and leadership team—not just accept a district logo at face value
This opening supports an elementary student population, with the exact school and caseload placement discussed during the district interview.
Why join us?
Target pay of $55–$60/hour W-2, equal to approximately $1,950–$2,175 per week at the scheduled 37.5 hours New graduates and Clinical Fellows are genuinely welcome—not “welcome” followed by a request for three years of experience Full-time, 37.5-hour weekly schedule Predictable Monday–Friday daytime hours Current order schedule of approximately 8:30 AM–3:10 PM No nights or weekends 44-week school-year contract running from August 10, 2026 through June 10, 2027 Elementary caseload that allows you to build meaningful pediatric and school-based experience Exact school placement discussed during the interview, giving you an opportunity to ask about the team, caseload, and building before committing CFY candidates can begin developing the direct school-based experience needed to build a long-term SLP career Experienced CCC-SLPs are preferred, but certification is not being used as a reason to shut out promising new clinicians Work within one of Michigan’s largest school systems, providing exposure to established special education programs and multidisciplinary teams Join a district recognized with multiple National Blue Ribbon School awards Public employee feedback gives the district comparatively strong marks for work-life balance and peer support Interviewing immediately for the 2026–2027 school year
Some employers say they support new clinicians but somehow expect those new clinicians to arrive fully trained, independently licensed, and carrying five years of experience in their backpacks.
This opening is different.
It is willing to consider new graduates, CFYs, and experienced CCC-SLPs. The question is not whether you have already done the exact job somewhere else. The question is whether you have the education, certification path, and ability to become excellent at it.
